Bishop compares students to Ustashe

A lengthy op-ed piece by Bishop David on the Krusevac Bishopric’s web site, said that the students protesting in the streets have instructors “teaching them how to become Serbian Ustashas (WW2 Nazi allies who persecuted and killed thousands of Serbs, Jews and Roma).

“When riots, uprisings, and revolutions of various colors are underway, in the end, the color that prevails is red, or the color of blood, and then all participants of the parade become responsible for far-reaching historical consequences, and this is known both by unscrupulous plotters and naive pawns,” the bishop wrote, seemingly siding with President Aleksandar Vucic who has claimed that the students are attempting a colored revolution.

“In times of strong upheavals among individuals and entire communities, all the nuances of human character and ethos emerge. Everything that is displayed on the stage is a real reflection of someone's manifested essence and cannot be softened by taking away percentages of responsibility just because some of them are younger people or less adaptable, or because some are older or weary individuals,” he added.
