Bislimi: Pristina accepts suggestions, CSM not discussed

He told reporters in Pristina that he did not discuss the CSM with Lajcak. “We did not discuss it because we said our views are clear … and that anyone who says he went to Brussels to discuss the Association is misinforming you because it was not discussed,” Bislimi said.

He said EU officials expressed concerns about the information that signatories of a petition to hold elections had to provide, feeling it is an invasion of privacy. The Kosovo government published administrative instructions that said elections can only be held if mayors are removed by petition.

The election of ethnic Albanian mayors in majority-Serb municipalities in a vote boycotted by the Serbs caused unrest in the north of Kosovo.

Bislimi, a deputy Prime Minister, said that it’s up to the people in the north to chose when to sign the petition.
