Bojan Simisic, the founder of Eko Straza, responded to a statement from the Higher Court, clarifying that his wife has no lawsuits against her nor is she suing anyone. This comes after the court asserted that the document Simisic found in his mailbox was not an "arrest warrant" but a "notification of a civil lawsuit."
A few days ago, Simisic shared that upon returning from a family vacation in Greece, he found what he believed to be an "arrest warrant" for his wife in their mailbox.
"After all the arrests, detentions, and intimidations in recent weeks, they are now targeting my family. They want to bring in my wife, who has nothing to do with Eko Straza. The only initiative she leads is 'Save the Fruit,' where we help farmers sell their products once a week in Belgrade. She has no involvement in blockades or organizing protests. They want to bring her in just to intimidate me by attacking my family," Simisic explained.
Simisic initially addressed the situation in a video on social media, describing what awaited him upon his return and displaying the document from the Higher Court.
In response, the Higher Court issued a statement on Saturday, clarifying that the document shown in the video was a "court notification" related to a civil lawsuit, not an "arrest warrant."
"The document in question is a court notification addressed to Jelena Jankovic Simisic regarding a civil case before the Higher Court," the court explained, adding that it was not a document pertaining to any measures to secure a person's presence in a criminal proceeding.
Simisic stated that he plans to visit the court to clarify the matter. "Tomorrow, I'll need to find out what this is about. I'm curious how the court operates on a Saturday. They're muddying the waters, saying it's not what it seemed... we'll see. It could be something tax-related, like with my brother Novica Antic," Simisic remarked.
He emphasized that his wife has no lawsuits and isn't involved in any legal actions. "Whatever this is, I'm sure it's a psychological tactic, and that's all it is," Simisic concluded.
