Bravo movement: Activists summoned for questioning ahead of Vucic’s Novi Sad rally
Dozens of activists in Novi Sad, including Bravo movement members Brajan Brkovic and Miran Pogacar, were called in for police questioning on Tuesday ahead of President Aleksandar Vucic’s planned appearance and rally in the city on September 4.
The Bravo civic movement said in a press release that the rally is being shrouded in secrecy, noting that the exact time and location remain unknown. They argued that the rally is clearly problematic for the regime itself, leading authorities to resort to intimidating the public.
“Our members are constantly targeted, but we want to make it clear that we have nothing to hide. We ask this regime: What are you afraid of? Are you threatened by unarmed people facing your armed phalanxes?” the movement said.
The press release added that residents of Novi Sad consider the president unwelcome in a city still in mourning for the 16 innocent victims killed in the railway station canopy collapse on November 1, 2024.
