Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic accused the opposition of "politicizing" two recent mass murders in Serbia in order to attack President Aleksandar Vucic and the government.

After the opposition announced that they would hold a protest on Monday due to the situation in Serbia, she recalled that there had been similar mass murders in other countries, but that „no one has ever used it for political reckoning and an attack on the government.“

„It’s unimaginable. It is scandalous and humanly incomprehensible that you say that Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party are to blame for these crimes. Are you insane, how is he responsible? You rushed to politicize the situation and it does not contribute to reducing the polarization in our country,“ Brnabic told Happy TV.

She also assessed that the mass murders in the Belgrade Elementary School „Vladislav Ribnikar“ and in Mladenovac and its surroundings were „a consequence of the times we live in.“

„In the first place, social networks and the atmosphere in which freedom of speech is abused to such an extent and it is widely observed that the promotion of violence on social networks has become the norm and standard with which our children have to live,“ Serbian Prime Minister said.
