Brnabic denies power company privatization

She said that the EPS has to be transformed to become a company providing energy security for the country. “Privatizing that national company would be senseless. This is a security issue for Serbia,” she told reporters at an AmCham conference in Belgrade and rejected speculation that the privatization of the EPS is imminent.

Brnabic said that there are no plans to continue Rio Tinto’s Jadar lithium mine project but added that there is regret over the loss of the project which she called the biggest development opportunity in Serbian history.
