Outgoing Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that mutual recognition of Serbia and Kosovo is the goal of the visit by US assistant Secretary of State Karen Donfried and other American officials.

“What has changed is that they are listening and hearing our side and our arguments,” she told the pro-regime TV Pink. Brnabic said that Washington is much more explicit in its criticism of the Kosovo authorities than the European Union “about everything that has not been done and for their dishonest attitude in the dialogue with Belgrade”… “over the fact that they did not form the Community of Serb Municipalities, and for banning the Serbs from voting in the referendum and the elections”. “Their stand is much more explicit,” she said.

According to Brnabic, that US stand is helping bring Pristina back to the negotiating table and the dialogue “no matter how much Serbia disagrees with the US on some basic issues”.

Brnabic said that most of her meeting with Donfried on Tuesday was focused on the economy and IT, adding that American companies will increase their presence in Serbia in coming weeks.
