She told reporters in Brussels that she had an excellent meeting with Metsola, telling her that the European Greens did not like how Vucic spoke of one of their MEPs. The Serbian President said that the MEPs present at a mass protest in Novi Sad are scum. “I said that MEPs have to understand that it’s inappropriate for them as guests in our country to attend unregistered gatherings (one of the terms used by the authorities for the protests). That MEP is from Denmark and he could not be at a gathering like that there. He would not break the law in his country so then why would he do that in our country,” she said.
Vucic’s offensive remarks about European Green Party co-president Vula Tsetsi and her Danish fellow MEP Rasmus Nordqvist led to strong reactions in the European Parliament and announcements of a possible review of the associate member status of his Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in the European People’s Party (EPP).
Brnabic claims that communication between the SNS and EPP is good with no problems.
