Outgoing Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic lashed out at United Group media outlets claiming that they published excerpts from the final ODIHR report on the mid-December elections to back up what she said are “false naratives” of election fraud.

Brnabic said that she was “forced to address the media before the ODIHR report was officially published …. because certain United Group media started publishing excerpts before the report was finalized” on Tuesday. N1 was granted exclusive access to the final report on Tuesday.

“This never happened in any country and it shows serious lack of respect for the final ODIHR report but its good that they (ODIHR) see what we are facing,” she told a news conference. She accused United Group media outlets of “continuing to create the false narrative that has been created for months” of election fraud.

Serbia Against Violence official Marinika Tepic said that Brnabic’s news conference was for show. “Anyone who reads the report will understand but it seems that only Ana Brnabic and (President) Aleksandar Vucic don’t understand… Everyone knows what happened, all the missions recorded what happened and that is election fraud but no one dares tell the naked emperor,” she said.

“I was forced to react and say what will be in the final report so that we don’t have to listen to nonsense and lies from people who couldn’t wait for ODIHR to publish its report. They had to hurry in order to create the false narrative,” Brnabic said adding that the report comes “after months of instability, a crisis created by certain media, political organizations, movements, structures and NGOs”.

“The final ODIHR report on the December elections in Serbia has finally arrived and that reports puts and end to all the lies and nonsense about election fraud,” she said. “Absolutely everyone will see that there is no evidence or criticism about what they called election fraud,” she said ad added that the recommendations show clearly that the elections were fair.

“Do we agree with everything in the report, certainly not but we will continue working on the implementation of recommendations,” she said.

Brnabic said that ODIHR final report is “much more objective than reports from other international institutions”. She accused those unnamed institutions of waging a political campaign against Serbia for “other geo-political interests”.
