Prime Minister Ana Brnabic opened a new facility at the State Data Center in Kragujevac which will house data from the Internal Affairs and Defense Ministries, military and the Security Information Agency (BIA).

Brnabic said the building will “be the heart of our security… and a new security level for the country”. “We are opening this special infastructure to combat cyber warfare. The war in Ukraine has shown the importance of equipping the state against cyber attacks. We have taken another important step in providing added security for our citizens and our state,” she said.

The prime minister said the country’s security services should set up a joint team to incorporate capacities, know-how, experience and experts in one place “and make Serbia more secure from cyber attacks and promote the credibility and competitiveness of the country and economy,” she said.

The State Data Center was opened in December 2020 to store data from state institutions, local authorities and commerical clients.
