Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic accused the opposition is calling for a transitional government to avoid elections. Pročitaj više

“I understand that they want a transitional government every time… which is a synonym for power without elections. That means it doesn’t matter how people voted, we don’t care who has a majority in parliament, we want to be ministers,” Brnabic said, adding that a transitional government goes against every democratic norm.

“It would be a slap in the face of every citizen of Serbia,” Brnabic said. She said that efforts to destabilize Serbia have been ongoing since 2014 when Aleksandar Vucic took over as president.

She added that Vucic’s resignation would be “politically lethal for Serbia”. “An unprecedented hatred towards Vucic and his family is underway and I can understand that the man could say he’s had enough,” she added. According to her, the country needs Vucic to realize the promises made by the authorities including EXPO 2027, higher salaries, pensions and minimum wages.
