Brnabic, OSCE Commissioner discuss rights of national minorities in Serbia

Brnabic emphasized Serbia's commitment to improving national minorities’ individual and collective rights, and added that the province of Vojvodina is an outstanding example because it is a home to many national and ethnic communities, said a Government press release.

Brnabic thanked the High Commissioner for the support that the OSCE has been providing to Serbia for years in improving education in the languages of national minorities.

Abdrahmanov welcomed Belgrade's efforts to establish a strong legislative framework in the area of protecting the rights of national minorities and pointed out that Serbia is a good example for the entire region in this field.

He congratulated Brnabic on the re-election and appointment of new ministers and added that he is carefully following the preparations for the election of members of national minorities’ councils, as well as that the OSCE considers Serbia as one of its most reliable partners, said the press release.
