Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Tuesday that Serbia and China will sign a free trade agreement and several bilateral agreements during President Aleksandar Vucic’s coming visit to Beijing.
Speaking during a meeting with China’s new Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming, Brnabic said that relations between the two countries are excellent with an intense political dialogue at all levels.
“The Prime Minister pointed out that the signing of the free trade agreement, during the upcoming visit of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic to Beijing, within the framework of the Third Forum for International Cooperation of the „Belt and Road“ initiative, will significantly contribute to the intensification of bilateral economic cooperation. She also welcomed the fact that a large number of bilateral agreements will be signed on that occasion,” a press release said.
The press release said that Brnabic informed the ambassador about the “long-term difficult situation of the Serbs and other non-Albanians” in Kosovo.
It quoted Li Ming as saying that China is “firmly on the position of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the friendly Republic of Serbia”.
