“The state has shown a more than tolerant stand, an unreasonably tolerant stand to maintain peace and show a capacity for democracy,” Brnabic told the pro-regime TV Happy following on comments by President Aleksandar Vucic that police officers and prosecutors who do not maintain constitutional order will be replaced.
According to her, the authorities have set an example for the countries that call themselves great, progressive democracies. “If Serbia was a developed European Union country, what is called the developed western democracies such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, this would be ended quickly,” she said claiming that in those countries the police would be out on the street arresting everyone. She also claimed that the police in Great Britain broke into the homes of people planning roadblocks to arrest and send them to prison for years.
“Whoever takes part in violence will answer before institutions in a democratic manner and that includes MPs,” she said.
