Serbian Parliament speaker Ana Brnabic informed UK Special Envoy to the Western Balkans Lord Stuart Peach on Monday in Belgrade about the process of implementing ODIHR recommendations, the electoral process and about her talks with the opposition.
Peach reiterated that he supports the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, emphasizing the importance of continuing the efforts to normalize relations and reach a lasting peace because that is important for the entire region, said the Serbian Parliament info office.
“Both sides agreed that the dynamics of cooperation and high-level visits should be continued with an undiminished intensity and expressed readiness to intensify bilateral relations,” said the press release.
Brnabic informed Peach about the meeting she had with the Serbian opposition regarding the implementation of the ODIHR recommendations aimed at advancing the election process and strengthening democracy in Serbia.
Although no agreement was reached, the speaker expressed her intention to continue trying to establish dialogue with the opposition.
Brnabic said she would continue to work on advancing parliamentary cooperation with the UK during her term of office, with special focus on economic cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of energy, science and technology.
Peach also meets Vucevic
Prime Minister designate and outgoing Defense Minister Milos Vucevic discussed with Peach on Monday cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense.
The two officials also discussed the current political and security situation in the Western Balkans and confirmed their commitment to preserving peace and stability in the region, said the Serbian Government in a press release.
