Brnabic to Bundestag officials: Pristina needs to form the CSM

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met on Friday with a delegation of the German Bundestag Parliamentary Group for Southeast Europe, with whom she discussed bilateral relations, Serbia’s European path, regional cooperation and the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, said a Serbian Government press release.

The Prime Minister underlined that Serbia pays special attention to improving bilateral relations with Germany which is Serbia’s leading economic partner and a country whose companies employ over 80,000 workers.

Brnabic emphasized that Serbia’s priority is the preservation of peace, stability and security and that its key foreign policy goal is membership in the European Union (EU). She informed the German officials about the recently completed process of judicial reform in Serbia, said the press release.

“Speaking about the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Prime Minister Brnabic pointed to the necessity of implementing the Brussels Agreement and the obligation to form the Community of Serb Municipalities, which is 10 years overdue. The Prime Minister also highlighted the continued readiness of Belgrade to continue talks on the normalization of relations with Pristina,” said the press release.

In an open discussion, the members of the delegation of the Bundestag Parliamentary Group for Southeast Europe expressed their views on the bilateral relations between the two countries and the situation in the region, it added.
