Brnabic to Johansson: EU sees Serbia’s efforts
Prime Minister Ana Brnabic told European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson the the European Union has recognized Serbia’s efforts to manage migration adding that Belgrade will respond to migratory pressure in close cooperation with the EU.
A government press release said that Brnabic and Johansson agreed that Serbia proved to be “a reliable and responsible collaborator of the Union in migration management” and that the signing of the Agreement on Serbia's Accession to the European Migration Network was particularly important.
Brnabic is quoted as saying that cooperation with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) is very good.
Johansson is quoted as saying that Serbia “made a big move in harmonizing with the visa policy of the European Union” which resulted in “a visible reduction in migratory pressure in the EU”.
