Serbian Parliament speaker Ana Brnabic said the extended Rector’s Board of the University of Belgrade issued a statement on Sunday “condemning the use of a non-existent sonic cannon, thus they are all responsible for disturbing the public and spreading false news in an ongoing attempt, this time to revive a color revolution.”

“Following the failed color revolution on March 15, the University of Belgrade continues to hype by issuing a public statement that serves nothing but to upset the public and spread panic, and someone must be held accountable for that,” Brnabic told the pro-regime Pink TV.

She said that “there isn’t a grain of truth in the story about the sonic cannon.”

“I don’t know what more we can expect – maybe someone will come and claim that (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vucic found Godzilla in the mountains of Japan, that we secretly transported it, and now Godzilla has been unleashed on student protesters to eat them one by one,” Brnabic remarked.

She emphasized that “the system has to function, enough is enough after four months,” noting that the Serbian Parliament’s role is also to oversee the implementation of the laws.

“The entire country cannot keep ignoring the fact that the Law on Higher Education and the Law on Student Organization are not being applied, and the Constitution is being violated. For them, the Constitution doesn’t apply. All of them, the rector and deans – they all see themselves as being above the state, the Constitution, and the law, they act as if they are God-given, completely disregarding the National Parliament, the Government, and the president who received 2.3 million votes,” Brnabic added.
