According to unofficial information, at least one person was killed when a canopy collapsed at the train station in the city of Novi Sad around noon on Friday.

Nova.rs reported that over 30 people have been injured.

Medical teams and three fire trucks have been dispatched to the scene.

Excavators have also been brought in to begin clearing the rubble.

The station building was first renovated in 2021, following which renovation work was again done a few months later. The building was officially reopened on July 5 this year.
