National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic said Thursday that inflation in Serbia is within the NBS target band and is expected to stay there over medium term.

Speaking at the presentation of the NBS monthly inflation report, Tabakovic noted that inflation in January stood at 2.4 percent.

“Year-on-year inflation will remain around the three percent midpoint, within a tolerance band of plus or minus 1.5 percent, until September, and, owing to the low base effect, it is projected to reach approximately four percent at the end of the year,” she said.

Tabakovic noted that the NBS expects Serbia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to grow by 3.5 percent this year, up from the two percent growth recorded in 2025.

She noted that this growth will be primarily driven by domestic demand and investments.
