Central election commission adopts overall election results

The Serbian Republic Election Commission (RIK) adopted the overall results of the December 17 elections which showed that 10 parties won seats in parliament.

Under Serbian election laws, parties and coalitions have 72 hours to appeal the results.

The RIK said that votes were cast at 8,273 polling stations by 3,815,007 of the total of 6,500,666 eligible voters. It added that 104,029 ballots were invalid. The vote was repeated at 35 polling stations on December 30 and at another 8 on January 2.

The 10 parties and coalitions that won seats in parliament are: the Aleksandar Vucic – Serbia Must Not Stop election ticket won 1,783,701 votes and 129 seats in the 250 seat Serbian Parliament.

The opposition Serbia Against Violence coalition won 902,450 votes and 65 seats, the Ivica Dacic – PM Serbia (SPS) 249,916 votes and 18 seats, NADA Serbia coalition 191,431 votes and 13 seats, We Voice of the People Dr Branimir Nestorovic 178,830 votes and 13 seats, Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians 64,747 votes and 6 seats, Usame Zukorlic – Tomislav Zigmanov coalition 29,066 votes and 2 seats, SDA Sandzak – dr Sulejman Ugljanin 21,827 votes and 2 seats, Saip Kamberi Political Fight of Albanians 13,501 and 2 seats, Russian Party 11,369 votes and 1 seat.
