The Serbian Chamber of Engineers is assembling a team of prominent structural engineering and construction experts to independently investigate the cause of the recent roof collapse accident at the Novi Sad main railway station.

According to the Chamber’s response to N1, this expert team will offer to provide independent support to the relevant authorities in determining the causes of the accident.

The team will also assist the Chamber of Engineers’ ethics committee in their investigation once they have access to the necessary facts and documentation.

The Chamber noted that there have been many premature conclusions made by non-experts or those without full information regarding this accident. They emphasized their appreciation for the media and public interest, but said that as an institution, they do not wish to participate in drawing conclusions without established facts.
