The chief negotiators from Belgrade and Pristina gave different accounts of Monday’s meetings with European Union Special Representative Miroslav Lajcak.

Petar Petkovic, head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo, accused Kosovo deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi of refusing to respond when asked about the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM), declaration on missing persons, freedom of movement and what he called Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s institutional violence against the Serbs. Petkovic said that Bislimi’s behavior was scandalous and that, unlike Belgrade’s delegation, he came to Brussels unprepared with no proposals.

“He just wants to create an impression of talks and his participation in the dialogue,” Petkovic said.

Bislimi told reporters after the meetings that they “only discussed the direction the dialogue was taking and the implementation of agreements”.

He confirmed that Lajcak brought several documents covering the mechanisms needed to implement agreements and competencies for the declaration on missing persons during his visits to Pristina and Belgrade last week.

According to Bislimi, Lajcak said that the implementation of the part of the agreement on forming the CSM should continue.
