The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CBRC) launched another construction project in Serbia at Thursday’s signing of commercial contracts with the Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure Ministry and 14 local communities.

The Chinese company has been engaged on a number of different construction projects in Serbia, including a bridge with approach roads in Belgrade and the railway between Serbia and Hungary. CBRC opened its office in Serbia in 2010.

The latest project titled Clean Serbia is the construction of communal infrastructure – 26 waste water processing plants and some 700 kilometers of sewer networks, a press release said.

The Serbian government plan is to complete the construction of communal infrastructure in more than 80 percent of local communities within the next five years, minister Tomislav Momirovic told the ceremony after the commerical contracts to plan and build the wastewater plants, sewer networks and pumping stations along with the reconstruction of six regional waste facilities.
