China’s Elink company interested in projects in Serbia

The Mining and Energy Ministry said in Thursday’s press release that the Chinese Elink company is interested in a project to replace electricity meters in Serbia.

It said that representatives of the Chinese company confirmed their interest in a meeting with Minister Zorana Mihajlovic, adding that they also discussed energy transition, possible investments in renewable power sources and upgrades to the Serbian state electricity company (EPS).

The press release quoted Elink East Europe sales manager Suming Sun as saying that Serbia is an important energy hub in the region and that his company wants to cooperate in the use of new technologies it developed to monitor and improve power distribution. He said that Elink is also ready to take part in other renewable energy projects and wants to discuss the possibility of Serbia becoming its regional base for production, development and work with young talents.

Mihajlovic is quoted as saying that Chinese companies are welcome to take part in implementing green agenda projects worth a total of 17 billion Euro, especially solar and wind power plants.
