The Chinese company that has been modernizing Serbia’s railways has been given the job of designing a 3rd line of the planned Belgrade metro, Nova.rs said on Monday.
The China Railways Design Corporation (CRDC) Serbia company signed a contract with the Belgrade Metro and Train company to start work on the metro line. The CRDC took the lead in the reconstruction of the railway to the border with Hungary.
Nova.rs said that CRDC also plays a leading role in the overall modernization of Serbian railways. It and the Serbian CIP signed an agreement in 2019 to form a consortium to reconstruct the Novi Sad – Kelebija rail line on the border with Hungary.
