CINS: Vucic’s close friend profiting from electricity

According to CINS, Nikola Petrovic (who stood as best man at Vucic’s wedding) holds shares in 10 small hydro power plants which were paid some 2.9 million Euro by the government. Petrovic has a 75 percent share in the Eco Energo Group (EEG) company which owns seven of the 10 power plants.

CINS recalled that the government has been buying electricity produced from renewable energy sources at prices higher than on the market for a decade to stimulate investments in that sector. Petrovic’s power plants have been paid some 23.4 million Euro in that time.

CINS said that Petrovic received media attention recently when he was involved in a traffic accident with his Mercedes McLaren in Belgrade’s elite Dedinje neighborhood.
