The non-governmental organization Crta and the ProGlas initiative are preparing evidence of election theft in video format and will submit it to the Constitutional Court of Serbia, which is the only institution that can annul the elections, said Miodrag Jovanovic, a professor at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade.
Jovanovic added that the video will be available to citizens through the media and social networks.
"Opposition parties, 'ProGlas', citizens and the non-governmental sector should not give up their loud cries about election theft," Jovanovic said.
Asked whether the opposition has the potential to replace the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Jovanovic said that the existing opposition is "the only one we have" and that citizens should "harness their strength to enable the existing (opposition) to replace the undemocratic regime".
Jovanovic is one of the initiators of the ProGlas initiative, a group of prominent public figures in Serbia who called on citizens to exercise their right to vote and go to the polls on December 17.
The non-governmental organization Crta has been observing elections in Serbia for years.
The ruling Serbian Progressive Party won a strong majority in the extraordinary parliamentary elections on December 17, while is has not secured a majority in the local elections in Belgrade.
The opposition in Serbia, led by the pro-European coalition "Serbia against violence", says that the election was stolen and demands that the result be annulled.
