Cobras MP unit getting heavy combat vehicles

The Milos features a remote controled 12.7 mm machinegun. The BSN said that deploying the 14-ton vehicle to a unit tasked primarily with providing security for state officials and buildings is unusual. The Cobras are also a counter-terrorist and counter-insurgency unit which could make use of the Milos.

The vehicles were initially deployed to the 72nd Special Operation Brigade in January 2021 and later to the 63rd Parachute Brigade.

The BSN said that the Cobras are also due to get HMMWV bought directly from AM-General in the US. The Cobras now have luxury cars, SUVs and G-class Mercedes vehicles.

The Milos was developed by the state-owned Jugoimport-SDPR arms and equipment trading company. It has room for 8 troopers and is powered by the Cummins ISB 300 engine.
