Three separate memorial gatherings were organized on the anniversary of the killing of Kosovo Serb opposition leader Oliver Ivanovic in Mitrovica North and Belgrade on Monday.

Two of the commemorations were held in front the headquarters of Ivanovic’s Freedom, Democracy, Justice party in Mitrovica by some of the Ivanovic family and friends and members of his and other opposition parties. A third commemoration by other family members will be held a Oliver Ivanovic’s graveside in Belgrade.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that she thinks Ivanovic was not killed by Serbs because they would have been arrested by now, adding that the authorities in Pristina, EULEX and UNMIK should release information about the investigation. “We have no information from international players or Pristina. Our security services are working on it but in a limited capacity because we did not get what we asked for,” she said.

Oliver Ivanovic was gunned down five years ago in front of the party offices in Mitrovica North by unidentified gunmen. The authorities in both Pristina and Belgrade launched investigations but have not released any tangible results yet.

The KoSSev news portal said that police were present at the commemorations in Mitrovica.
