Court refuses prosecution detention demand

A court in Novi Sad refused to order detention for a former minister and two others indicted for the collapse of an awning at the city’s main railway station which claimed 15 lives.
A panel of judges at the Higher Court in Novi Sad refusing a prosecution demand to detain former Construction Minister Goran Vesic, his deputy Anita Dimoski and Serbian Railways Infrastructure company CEO Jelena Tanaskovic.
The court extended the house arrest order for all three and extended the detention for the other 10 people covered by the indictment which was filed on December 30 by the Higher Public Prosecution in Novi Sad.
