Court rules against pro-regime TV, in favor of independent show

Olja Beckovic, author and host of the Impression of the Week (Utisak Nedelje) talk show which often features critics of the authorities, told the Nova.rs portal that the ruling by the Higher Court in Belgrade would serve as an example to anyone who infringes on copyright. TV Pink introduced the Hit Tweet talk show in the same time slot as Beckovic’s show and with a similar concept. TV Pink is a major source of pro-regime propaganda and an outlet for supporters of the regime.

Beckovic said that the ruling is of huge important in discouraging plagiarism. This case is closed for me,” she said.
The law suit was filed against TV Pink, its owner Zeljko Mitrovic, Hit Tweet host Verica Bradic and its author Goran Gmitric.

Bradic refused to comment, saying she had not seen the ruling.

The Impression of the week first aired in 1991 and was copyrighted in 1994.
