Croatian police apprehend several persons linked to attack on Belgrade's Crvena Zvezda team

According to Croatian Minister of Internal Affairs Davor Bozinovic, the Belgrade team members were in a hotel supervised by the police, but a part of the group and reporters were at a different location and police knew nothing about their whereabouts. He stressed that these details do not diminish the incident by any means.

Bozinovic also said that so far four persons have been apprehended and that investigation is underway.

Zadar Mayor Branko Dukic joined the condemnations and said there is no justification for the attack.

“Such violent behaviour has nothing to do with the sports and sport competitions and there can be no justification for that. Nothing is and cannot serve as a cause or alibi for violence and threatening one's life,” he underlined.

The match is scheduled for Sunday at 5 p.m.
