Commenting on the war in Ukraine, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said that Serbia and Russia are not one and the same, and that Kosovo was annexed and taken from Serbia.
“Serbia and Russia are not one and the same. This is unfortunately a painful fact and a danger. We annexed Kosovo. We and the international community. It was taken from Serbia. Who did that if not us? We and the international community. Did we recognize Kosovo? We did. It was not annexation, it was snatching. How do you call that? Extraction? Potayto, potahto. This is not throwing into question the issue of Kosovo, but rather the entire concept,” said Milanovic, N1 Zagreb reported.
He added that Russia is a dangerous country. “You don’t get anything. You are comparing Serbs, these rebel peasants with a world nuclear superpower,” he said.
“Insane emotions and hatred are leading Europe into great danger,” said the Croatian President.
He also commented on the Ukrainians’ “hatred” towards the Russians:
“Ukrainians pathologically hate the Russians, that is a fact. Croats did not hate the Serbs that much, as much as they (the Ukrainians) hate the Russians,” Milanovic added.
