Crowds at Belgrade markets on the eve of Easter
Christians following the Julian calendar will celebrate Easter on Sunday. The day before one of the biggest Christian holidays, there are big crowds at Belgrade markets and the final preparations are underway.
The N1 team visited the Kalenic market, where one can find fresh, as well as boiled, already dyed eggs waiting for someone to buy them.
"The atmosphere is nice, there are a lot of customers. Belgrade women buy both fresh and dyed, half and half. These days, white eggs are mostly bought. Pre-dyed eggs cost 60 dinars, white ones are 40 dinars, and classic eggs are 30 dinars," said one of the sellers.
At the second counter – Swiss chard, greens, green salad. There is always a buyer for quality goods, the saleswoman behind the green counter told N1.
"In addition to all the meals, there must, of course, be salad and spices on the table to make everything nice and tasty. During the holidays, there must always be something for everyone, that's our tradition and there's no question about that," the seller told N1.
