Serbian Culture Minister Maja Gojkovic opened in Havana an exhibition entitled ‘Energy for the Future: Nikola Tesla and the Development of Hydropower’ and said it was particularly important that the exhibition is held the same year when Serbia and Cuba are marking the 120th anniversary of the establishment of relations, said Gojkovic’s office.
The Minster said Serbia and Cuba are countries with rich histories and proud people who above all value freedom and patriotism.
“Tesla once said: ‘If I will have the luck to realize at least some of my ideas, it will be a benefaction for the whole mankind. If these hopes of mine come true, the sweetest thought will be that it is the work of a Serbian.’” said Gojkovic, noting that these words best depict his cosmopolitan spirit that never forgot, even for a moment, where it is from and where its roots are.
By organizing the exhibition, the Culture Ministry once again contributed to preserving the memory of, in the opinion of many, the world’s greatest inventor of the past millennium.
