Slovenia is one of the ten largest investors in Serbia and Slovenian companies employ over 20,000 workers in Serbia, Economy Minister Slobodan Cvetkovic told a meeting with representatives of 20 Slovenian companies operating in Serbia.

Despite the fact that commodity trade between the two countries is at a high level, almost 1.3 billion euros, there are plans to further increase it in the coming period, the Ministry quoted Cvetkovic as saying.

The Minister said that Serbia attracted over 60 percent of all foreign direct investments in the region, or 4.4 billion euros, which is by far the most in the Western Balkans region.

Serbia is characterized by peace and stability, while its political neutrality additionally provides a favorable climate for business expansion, said Cvetkovic.
