Serbia’s Internal Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said that 8 bodies were pulled out from under the rubble at the Novi Sad railway station on Friday.

A concrete roof fell at the station in the northern Serbian city, injuring dozens.

“Eight bodies have been pulled out of the rubble, two people are in hospital and one is in very bad condition with his legs amputated. We are working on pulling two people out of the rubble and we have to wait and see what we’ll find under the rubble,” Dacic told reporters.

The minister said rescue teams were at the site within minutes, adding that construction companies offered their machinery to help. “Some 80 rescue team members from several cities are taking part in the operation,” he said.
