Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Thursday that Kosovo will get an embassy on the moon before it gets a diplomatic mission in Belgrade.

“To follow on the science fiction coming out of Pristina, I want to say that they will open an embassy on the moon before Belgrade,” Dacic said commenting the fact that the Kosovo Foreign Ministry web site lists the Republic of Serbia on its list of embassies (https://ambasadat.net/en).

Dacic recalled that Belgrade and Pristina exchanged liaison officers without diplomatic status whose offices are in the European Union delegations in Serbia and Kosovo. He said that 72 foreign diplomatic-consular missions are accredited in Belgrade representing sovereign, independent states “which self-proclaimed Kosovo is not nor will it ever be”.

According to the Foreign Minister, the opening of diplomatic missions was never discussed.
