Serbian Parliament Speaker Ivica Dacic said on Friday that European Parliament officials were only helping in the talks between the ruling and opposition parties on election conditions which are being held under the auspices of the Serbian Parliament.

He said that the European Parliament officials will meet with Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and the government’s working group on cooperation with the OSCE which is chaarged with implementing ODIHR recommendations made after last year’s elections. Dacic said that they will also meet with civil society organizations.

“I agreed to send them the platforms submitted by all political parties, including those who do not want European parliament mediation, to keep them informed and, paradoxically, I asked them to send me (Dragan) Djilas’ and (Vuk) Jeremic’s platforms which were not handed to us but were presented to the European Parliament,” Dacic said.

Dacic said he would meet online with the European Parliament officials by the end of May and added that he hopes that they will travel to Belgrade in June.
