Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic said that the Resolution on the International Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide, which was adopted at the United Nations General Assembly, is "illegal on two counts". Pročitaj više

„Because first, there is no legitimacy or legality from Bosnia and Herzegovina, because the Presidency did not make that decision. And the second issue is that the General Assembly has no right to put on the agenda something that is on the agenda of the Security Council without the approval of the Security Council, and last week there was a session of the Security Council on BiH,“ Dacic told RTS.

He stated that such resolutions are not legally binding and that the effects, in terms of that day and event, will be of „limited range“ due to the number of votes, while the indirect effects are the potential for causing division in the region and „causing various actions that may yet follow.“

Speaking about Serbia’s position regarding the announcement by Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik that a proposal for peaceful separation will be sent to his colleagues in Sarajevo, Dacic said that everything that is in accordance with the Dayton Agreement and everything that is part of the agreement of all three peoples and both entities is acceptable for Serbia.

„We respect the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, just as we respect the integrity and autonomy of the Republika Srpska in general, and we will react against any attempt to violate the Dayton Agreement, that is, to abolish the Republika Srpska,“ said Dacic.
