Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Friday that no one in the country knows the situation facing President Aleksandar Vucic prior to next Monday’s meeting in Brussels with European Union officials and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

According to the Foreign Minister, the President faces “a very difficult day” of talks on Kosovo. “The public and politicians in Serbia are not aware of the situation that Vucic and Belgrade are in,” Dacic said.

He said that Vucic told foreign officials that he would not agree to recognize Kosovo as independent nor to allow its membership in the United Nations.

The Foreign Minister said that EU officials should tell the Serbian President what they agreed with the Kosovo authorities before any talks on the Franco-German proposal to normalize Belgrade-Pristina relations.
