The invitation that the daily Danas had access to was signed by Viola von Cramon, MEP from The Greens group.

The discussion will be an opportunity to open a dialogue about the current state of democracy in Serbia and address the challenges after December 17. I would like to emphasize the importance of the efforts undertaken by the EP in preserving democracy in Serbia, wrote Viola von Cramon in the invitation.

The European Parliament plays a key role in encouraging the democratic values of human rights and the rule of law in Serbia, and in the entire Western Balkans, said the invitation.

Members of the European Parliament, which had observers in Serbia’s elections, delivered at its recent plenary session a series of harsh criticisms of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s regime, alleging that it rigged the elections.

Danas learns that the Serbia Against Violence coalition will hold a meeting on Friday to decide which of its representatives will attend the European Parliament session.
