The Danube spilled over its banks in parts of the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad, local media reported on Wednesday.
The 021.rs portal said that houses were flooded in a neighborhood on the outskirts of the city where there was no embankment. It added that the Strand city beach was also flooded.
According to the Vode Vojvodine water management company, the Danube water level has risen 20 centimeters since December 31, peaking in Novi Sad with waters expected to recede over the next few days.
