Death threats to Serbia’s former president Boris Tadic

The death threats to Serbia’s former president Boris Tadic appeared on Thursday simultaneously in Belgrade, and the Bosnia-Herzegovina Serb entity Republika Srpska capital Banja Luka believed to be related to the life imprisonment of Ratko Mladic, Bosnian Serb wartime military leader.

Belgarde arrested Mladic during Tadic’s presidency in May 2011, after he was at large for 15 years.

Mladic was convictedof genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes before the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) which passed the final verdict of life imprisonment on Tuesday.

Graffiti in Belgrade central parts of Dorcol and Vracar read “Death to Boris Tadic,” while Banja Luka’s stickers said “Die to Your Mother,” Nova.rs website reported.

Twitter exploded with photos and comments on the threats.

Opposition activists in Belgrade soon covered them with white paint.

Sarajevo-born Tadic was Serbia’s President from 2004 to 2012.

He was not immediately available for comment.
