DefMin: Units to be deployed by 2 pm, hoping for political resolution

Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said the deployment of Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) units will be completed by 2 pm Monday, in line with the orders issued on Friday by the Serbian President, adding that the military remains in a state of raised readiness.

SAF units will be ready to execute all orders, hoping that a political resolution will be found, said Vucevic.

He assessed that KFOR is protecting the Kosovo police and “the usurpers of democracy, the self-proclaimed municipal representatives from the people they should be mayors to.”

He said it was up to politics and diplomacy to find a political solution.

The Minister said the SAF Chief of Staff in contact with the KFOR Commander, who said that KFOR will ensure peace and that it will not allow clashes between the Kosovo police and Serbs in Kosovo.

Asked what it is that the SAF can do, Vucevic said the military is not in charge of dialogue and that its task is to protect the country’s territory and airspace.
