Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said Thursday that the Defense Ministry will conduct on January 30 an annual analysis of the state of the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF), which is when the military leadership will submit a report to the Serbian President.

“I think we will also have a presentation of weapons and military equipment with the president of the country (Aleksandar Vucic) as part of that event and, of course, we will emphasize to the President the arguments is favor of why the suspension of mandatory military service should be abolished and why we propose that military service be shorter than it was,” Vucevic told Pink TV.

The arming of the SAF will continue not so as to compete or brag, but in order to preserve the country, and that will be done through the domestic arms industry and by procuring complex combat systems that Serbia does not manufacture, said Defense Minister Vucevic.
