Delegations from 140 countries gather in Serbia for first EXPO 2027 Planning Meeting

With more than 350 officials, including ministers, state secretaries, directors of key national institutions, and ambassadors, the IPM represents one of the largest international and diplomatic gatherings ever in Serbia.

This meeting will bring together representatives who lead key policies in their countries in the areas of foreign trade, economic development, sports, tourism, culture, innovation, education and youth, as well as representatives from international organizations such as the United Nations and FIBA.

The opening ceremony is attended by Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, Secretary General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions Dimitri Kerkentzes, and Director of EXPO 2027 Belgrade enterprise Dusan Borovcanin. Also in attendance are the Serbian President’s wife Tamara Vucic, Serbia’s Foreign Minister Marko Duric, Culture Minister Nikola Selakovic, Minister of Internal and External Trade Jagoda Lazarevic, and President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez.

The meeting provides an opportunity for delegations to get acquainted with the theme and concept of EXPO 2027, the master plan, construction phases, logistics and operations, as well as digital platforms for participants.

This is the first of four preparatory meetings with representatives from participating countries and nations interested in taking part in the exhibition.

So far, 112 countries have confirmed their participation in the Specialized Expo 2027, and this level of interest has contributed to making Belgrade the fastest-sold Expo in history, organizers highlight.

The Specialized Expo 2027 in Belgrade is scheduled to take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027, lasting a total of 93 days.
