The Demostat portal said on Wednesday that Serbia has become a favorite destination for Ukrainian and Russian businesses.

According to Demostat, the Business Registers Agency has entered 288 Russian companies and 730 entrepreneurs into its records since the war in Ukraine began compared to just 9 companies and 6 entrepreneurs earlier.

Ukrainian nationals owned just 3 companies and had 3 entrepreneurs registered before the war with the numbers rising to 13 companies and 7 entrepreneurs by the end of May.
Demostat was told by the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) that the number of bank accounts held by non-residents rose from about 27,000 to more than 130,000 by June 13.
