Dragicevic Sesic: Professors’ titles misused on the list of support for Serbian Progressive Party

A large number of professors were on the list of support for the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) because the public believed that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, did not have the support of the university, Dr Milena Dragicevic Sesic, a professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, told N1. She pointed out that in this case the professors' titles were misused, even though these persons themselves agreed to be on that list.

"Now the titles of professors and doctors dominate, the titles of deans dominate the list, but very skillfully. Those titles were used – specifically in this case misused," said Dragicevic Sesic and added that the title was signed by deans or rectors, but not by the director of a public cultural institution.

She explained that it is not right to sign with the title to which you were elected for a temporary period, in the political struggle.

What surprised many was that basketball player Nikola Jokic was also on the list of support for the ruling party. Dragicevic Sesic estimated that his appearance on the list could be the key to attracting those who are undecided, wavering or perhaps would not vote in the elections.

"None of these actions that are being conducted in this election campaign, which SNS is behind, are accidental. It is the result of deep thinking, not of membership but of paid ‘brains,’ marketing agencies and public opinion experts who harnessed all their strength as professionals to find the keys to victory," she said.

For her, this means that the Government is not sure of its victory, despite the discourse and rhetoric showing certainty. However, she adds, behaviour reveals fear.
